Report: Real Madrid want £77.5m Liverpool target, willing to offer two players in deal

Italian outlet CMW claim that Real Madrid want to sign Liverpool target and Inter Milan midfielder Nico Barella – and are willing to elbow the Reds aside by offering Inter the services of two fringe players.

Barella, 25, has enjoyed another stellar season at Inter. Having a hand in 17 goals, the Italy star clocked up 48 appearances for Inter – and another 10 caps for Italy. He has now played 135 times in three seasons for Inter.

Clearly, a player that is always available and even if suffering with a knock – happy to play through the pain barrier. Recent reports suggest that Barella wants to join Liverpool at ‘all costs’, and the Reds are willing to offer Naby Keita.

However, Real Madrid have entered the race for the 39-time Italy star and are willing to offer two players of their own alongside cash – in the form of Nacho, and Dani Ceballos. It remains to be seen what Inter think.

Barella has a decision to make – but he is in no rush. Inter have him tied down to a contract until the summer of 2026. It means that interested parties will have to break the bank for the midfielder.

Inter do need to sell in order to bring in some much-needed cash, but Milan Skriniar’s move to PSG is likely to solve that issue. It means Inter can keep the likes of Barella, Lautaro Martinez and Alessandro Bastoni.

However, a move to Madrid or Liverpool is hard to turn down – especially with both in the most-recent Champions League final. Inter have an asking price of £77.5million, and could be tempted by a swap deal.
